Barkly Highway State School Parents and Citizens Association are scheduled to meet on the second Tuesday of the month during each school term.
The P&C Association is a group of community minded people, parents and carers, who in conjunction with the school, promote the interests of Barkly Highway State School and assist with the development and improvement of the school.
All parents and carers are encouraged to join the P&C and by becoming a member, you are kept up to date with what is happening at our school. If you are in a position to offer extra assistance, or become a committee member, it would be greatly received, as all that we do is ultimately in the interest of the students and the wider school community. New members are always welcome.

Fundraising
P&C activities support the life long learning experiences, by assisting the school with fundraising activities. Various events and activities are assisted/coordinated by the P&C who rely on volunteers and assistance from the school community to ensure our fundraising to be a success. All monies raised go directly back to the students and the school.
We have some big plans for 2023. If you would like to hear all about them, come along to a meeting, meet the team and learn about what we have planned.
Operate and manage the tuckshop
Our tuckshop provides delicious healthy food to our students and operates under the 2007 Smart Choices Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Schools. Our menu has been awarded 4 stars by the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops (QAST). The P&C employs a Supervising Tuckshop Convenor who has an assistant on Friday. Volunteers are very welcome. If you can volunteer some time or assist the tuckshop in any way, please contact the tuckshop.
Operate and manage the uniform shop
Our
Uniform shop is currently open by appointment. We provide all aspects of our school uniform in various styles and sizes. We accept cash and Eftpos or you can order through flexischools.com.au. Our uniform shop is run by volunteers and our current coordinator is parent volunteer Amanda Smart.
