Barkly Highway State School has a range of facilities including a tuckshop, uniform shop and Resource Centre. The Resource Centre incorporates a library, multi-media room, conference room and science room.
The students also have access to two large well-maintained ovals that are watered using the school bore, half basket ball/netball court, cricket pitch and practice nets, three play forts and a large under-cover area which is always busy with children of all ages playing handball.
